Monday, January 13, 2025 - Mexico Trip & Community Support

Happy new year! Take a look at what we have coming up at The Commons.

Come build a house with us in Mexico!

Mexico Trip House Building Trip: We are taking a team to Puerto Peñasco, Mexico February 14th to the 17th. As a community development organization, 1Mission provides housing for people living without safe, secure shelter. Housing is a catalyst to long-term development and essential to poverty alleviation. The focus is connecting people to people, not people to projects. As a trip participant, you will work alongside a local family and other community members to build a house. By the time our group arrives, this family will have already served hundreds of hours in their community, using their gifts and talents to create opportunities for their families and neighbors. 1Mission provides a place to stay, food and water, medical insurance, and all the tools and materials needed to construct the house. We will also get to go to the beach, eat fish tacos (if that’s your kinda thing), and have an amazing experience alongside our team! Adult cost is $375. Youth (age 12-17) cost is $180. Kids 11 and under are $45. Large family rate is $1290 max for immediate family members (which includes 2 adults and any children under the age of 18). Ask about scholarship opportunities if needed. Check your passport! Email our team leader jonathansbruce1@gmail.com to confirm your spot! More info HERE

Support Katie & Ivan

Our sweet friends, Katie King, and her 5th grader, Ivan, tragically lost their house in a fire on Christmas Eve. Thankfully they were not home at the time and are safe. Let’s continue to help them during this difficult time. Here are links to their MEAL TRAIN and their GO FUND ME.

Help us paint the youth room!

Do you enjoy painting or just want to come hang and help? Join us at Federated on Monday, January 20th (MLK Day) from 1-3pm as we put a fresh coat of paint on the youth room upstairs! All materials are provided. RSVP by texting Gretta at 928-310-1018.

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” - John 14:27
