Come build a house in Mexico with The Commons!
What: Mexico Trip House Building Trip
Where: Puerto Peñasco, Mexico
When: February 14th to the 17th
About 1Mission:
As a community development organization, 1Mission provides housing for people living without safe, secure shelter. Housing is a catalyst to long-term development and essential to poverty alleviation. The focus is connecting people to people, not people to projects. As a trip participant, you will work alongside a local family and other community members to build a house. By the time your group arrives, this family will have already served hundreds of hours in their community, using their gifts and talents to create opportunities for their families and neighbors.
About the Trip:
Once you arrive at the basecamp in Puerto Peñasco you will be provided with space to set up tent/car/RV camping (or bunkhouse option), food and water, medical insurance, and all the tools and materials you need to construct the house. Our team will also get to go to the beach, eat fish tacos (if that’s your kinda thing), and have an amazing experience alongside our team! We will caravan/carpool and depart on Friday morning February 14th and get back to Flagstaff around dinner time on February 17th.
- Anyone that would like to reserve an RV Space for the weekend, needs to email merle@1mission.org directly to reserve and pay $40 for the spot. Let Merle know if it’s 30 or 50 AMP, the length of the unit, and that you are with The Commons Feb 14-17 trip. She will email you an invoice and details.
- If you wish to reserve a spot in the Bunkhouse, email merle@1mission.org directly to reserve and pay $20 per spot. Let Merle know how many male and how many female spots you require and that you are with The Commons Feb 14-17 trip. Your reservation is confirmed once the fee has been paid.
- Tenting is unlimited and requires no reservation or additional fee!
