Operations Director

The Operations Director helps create a welcoming, organized, and thriving community by overseeing the day-to-day operations that support the life and mission of The Commons. This role combines administration, communication, event coordination, and Sunday service planning to ensure our ministries run smoothly.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Sunday services, including service planning, volunteer communication, announcements, and worship flow.

  • Manage church communications through the website, social media, monthly email newsletter, printed materials, and community announcements.

  • Plan and support church-wide events, seasonal celebrations, service projects, and community gatherings.

  • Promote and support community groups and interest groups, encouraging connection and leader development.

  • Maintain office operations, supplies, contact databases, calendars, and organizational systems.

  • Coordinate volunteers and follow up with newcomers to help people feel welcomed and connected.

  • Collaborate closely with staff to implement ministry initiatives and ensure clear communication across all areas of church life.

  • Participate in staff meetings, retreats, and ongoing organizational planning.

  • Cultivate a healthy spiritual life and rhythms of rest, recognizing that sustainable ministry flows from personal well-being.

Jubilee (Disability Ministry) Director

Job Requirements:

  • Coordinate and lead Disability Ministry programming, including planning lessons, activities, meals, transportation, service projects, fundraising events, and special events throughout the year.

  • Maintain regular communication with church pastors, staff, students, parents, volunteers, and community partners to support ministry goals and participant engagement.

  • Provide compassionate support to adults with disabilities and their families while maintaining appropriate boundaries, confidentiality, and a safe ministry environment.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, including facilitating background checks and training in disability awareness, abuse prevention, wheelchair transfers, and personal care assistance.

  • Manage ministry communications through event reminders, social media, outreach efforts, and updates to family support resources such as Meal Train.

  • Oversee ministry administration, including budgeting, event planning, volunteer coordination, program evaluation, and strategic outreach to expand participation and community partnerships.
